Jeff Thompson has been representing clients in Florida’s courts for close to 20 years. As a partner at Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Storey, Jeff specializes in complex civil litigation cases involving health care, business litigation, first-party property insurance defense/homeowners claims, community association disputes, construction defect and premises liability claims, as well as all cases involving all aspects of personal injury and wrongful death. A part of his practice also includes the representation of licensed professionals in administrative proceedings filed against them.
A strong background in public speaking has led many organizations to request Jeff as a speaker. His topics range from risk management for medical professionals to helping businesses prepare for changes brought by the Affordable Care Act, better known as ObamaCare. He is often asked to speak on a variety of issues, such as tort reform, liability trends and legislative and regulatory implications in Florida.
Companies have come to rely on Jeff’s pragmatic approach to handling issues, “Mistakes can have big financial consequences and protecting clients to the very best of my ability is my number-one priority.” A voice of reason in the complex realm of law, current and prospective clients can always expect a healthy dose of truth and honesty. “Once I assess an issue, I will be completely up-front with the client, making sure they are kept up-to-date throughout the matter at hand, and making myself available to them 24/7.”
Jeff provides counsel to companies in a number of industries including insurance companies, health care providers, product manufacturers, property owners, construction contractors and homeowners associations. He also serves as panel counsel for several large insurance carriers.
