BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

Donald T. Carbone is an associate with Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Storey, P.A. His practice is focused on complex civil litigation defense including but not limited to first-party property insurance defense and homeowner claims.

Donnie graduated cum laude from Barry University College of Law in 2018. During law school, he was selected to serve as a Dean’s Study Fellow, tutoring students in first year subjects. Donnie was also an associate editor and then senior editor for Barry Law Review. Prior to attending law school, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida State University. Before to joining Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Storey, Donnie was Assistant Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida in Orange and Osceola Counties. He defended clients charged with a variety of misdemeanors and felonies, from initial arrest to jury verdict. Donnie also represented violations of probation as well as had clients with competency to proceed issues and consulted with doctors while advising clients during forensic psychiatric evaluations.

Donnie’s professional memberships include the Florida Bar (2018), the Florida Bar Young Lawyer’s Division, and the Criminal Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Donnie was raised in Orlando and has seen the community grow over the last 25 years, understanding the complex needs of businesses and insurance companies. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, live music, rooting for FSU sports teams, and enjoying the chain of lakes Central Florida has to offer.
