BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE
J. Matthew Hill is Senior Counsel with Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Smoak, P.A. His practice is focused on civil litigation defense including but not limited to first-party property insurance defense/homeowners claims.
Mr. J. Matthew Hill began his legal career working and gaining experience in multiple areas of civil litigation including automobile accidents, commercial vehicle accidents and premises liability. Mr. Hill has focused his practice on civil litigation defense, including but not limited to first-party property insurance defense/homeowners claims and claims related to construction defect. Matt also has considerable experience representing insurance carriers and insureds, to include shopping centers, restaurants, retail establishments and other premises owners in a wide variety of premises liability claims, as well as all litigation arising from all aspects of premises liability.
Matt obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida and he attended Barry University College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. Matt is a member of the Florida Bar and the Florida Bar Young Lawyer’s Division.
