Katie Cumming is Senior Counsel for Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Storey, P.A. Ms. Cumming has been defending clients in both State and Federal Court in Florida for more than 20 years and has provided a defense in various matters, including automobile liability and underinsured/uninsured motorist cases, premises liability, negligent security, wrongful death, medical malpractice, dental malpractice, employment discrimination, trucking litigation, nursing home defense, as well as first party property cases involving damage due to wind, water and sinkhole. In addition, she has represented licensed medical providers in administrative proceedings brought by the State of Florida.
Ms. Cumming has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1987. She attended the University of Florida College of Law, where she graduated in May 1987. Ms. Cumming is admitted in both State and Federal Court. She was previously an Officer in the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
Ms. Cumming lived on Long Island in New York before moving to sunny Florida in 1980. She is the proud mother of a daughter, Kelsey, who attends Rollins College and a son, Alex, who is in his first year of law school at the University of Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running, cooking and traveling.
